I'm replacing my old furnace with a new 96% efficient furnace. also my hot water tank which the new one will be electric. I would like to run the two 2" pvc pipe up my exsisting 6" b vent pipe. instead of plugging it off as i would not need it. Is this possible and if so is there a special cap for the top of the b vent to seal off the 2 pvc pipe . I live in kamloops bc canada

How do I replace the leaking seal on my furnace pvc pipe?

So, I saw the pictures on your site and this is exactly what is happening with my unit. It is leaking right at the seal where the pvc enters the top of the furnace. I am assuming a regular sealant was used and not the high temp you speak of.

My question is how do I replace this joint with the correct sealant? It is an elbow joint that is already sealed to the gray pipe entering the furance. Can I somehow remove this without changing the gray pipe that runs into the furnace or do I have to get that piece changed in order to fix this seal? If so, where would I find such a piece?
