Water heater vent pipe pipe no completely sealed off from the exterior wall.

Question

I just had a plumber come fix the exhaust pipes on my gas water heater (they were put in incorrectly.) Now the pipe isn’t completely sealed off from the exterior wall. How do I seal this?

Hi Caroline,

I’m not sure that I understand… could you describe this installation, water heater(s) location, vent pipe installation; where does it go from the top of the water heater, what type of the pipe is it (single or double wall metal, PVC). If you could add a picture of this installation it would be even better. Unfortunately I can’t see what you’re seeing…
